Realizing that you are the ‘observer of your thoughts’ is a game changer.
🏵 Once you become aware that-
1) thoughts are temporary and flow in and out of your mind and
2) that you can choose whether or not to respond or act on them
-your thoughts no longer control you.
🏵 You get to choose which thoughts might warrant further introspection and which thoughts to discard and ignore- such as those based on a temporary and fleeting emotion.
🏵 Becoming the observer actually gives you more regulatory control over your emotional responses.
🏵 And mindful meditation is a great way to begin learning to become the observer.
